Former Manchester United striker David Bellion hits out at Bordeaux coach Jean Tigana for lack of opportunitiesDavid Bellion endured a difficult start to the campaign with Bordeaux, appearing only twice from the bench, and now that the striker has moved on loan to Nice, he has exclusively told Goal of his poor relations with coach Jean Tigana.

The former Manchester United and Sunderland player has complained that all the graft he put into training was ignored by his former boss. “At first I had my chance, it's true,” he explained. “But from the time when other attackers arrived, it was simply over for me.

“There are things that I won’t say now because I'm concentrating on OGC Nice, knowing I was banging my head against a wall or talking to a wall - it was no use.”Asked about his last few months in Bordeaux, Bellion was happy to explain his problems further.

“I was there for all the training sessions, so they knew what I was worth,” he stated. “At one point, I wanted to leave because I saw it was useless to be there. When I was playing well, it led to nothing and when I played badly, they were not concerned with me. So I decided to leave for five or so months, so that now I smile when I go into training.

“I know very well that I had to leave, because at training I was a ghost. I didn’t exist on the pitch. I scored goals in the Coupe de la Ligue, with the reserve team and in friendly matches, but it was pointless to do.”Bellion will hope for more success with Nice, where he was previously a success during the 2006-07 season.
