Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra believes that Wayne Rooney will soon regain his form to be counted amongst the world's best footballers. The 25-year-old has had some trouble with form, and turmoil in his personal life only served to give his critics more ammunition. And at one point during his contract talks, the former Everton man had openly declared his intent to leave United, owing to what he then considered as a lack of ambition on the part of the club. At the time, however, Evra was unhappy at the forward's views and had maintained that the Red Devils should sell their prised assed.

But after going through an intense training programme in the United States, Rooney has returned to the club. And the Frenchman insists that nobody has any ill feeling towards the player now. "It was very good to see him back," Evra said, according to the Daily Mail. "We are all going to help him get back to his best and scoring goals for United again. "With Wayne we don’t talk about the past, we just think about the future.

"And the future is where he will once again become one of the best players in the world. "What I said was that the most important thing was the team, not Patrice Evra or Wayne Rooney. "I never said the players were against him. When someone says they don’t trust in the future of United it caused us pain - but it is behind us now."
